How to report a problem to local authorities
When something is missing or broken in your neighbourhood — a drinking fountain, a street issue, or another communal need — you can contact district assemblies and city agencies. Water for All has published a practical guide based on real experience with Berlin authorities.
The guide covers requests to Berliner Wasserbetriebe, Einwohneranfragen to the district assembly (BVV), parliamentary questions (Kleine Anfrage), how to check status, and how to share outcomes so others can learn from them.
It does not guarantee immediate results, but it gives you a clear set of tools to draw attention to infrastructure gaps.
